Our customer is a leading automation and machinery integrator specializing in the design and development of custom automation solutions for industrial customers.
The Electrical Designer will be responsible for designing electrical panels, control systems, and cable layouts for custom automation projects. The successful candidate will work closely with electrical engineers, controls specialists, mechanical designers, and project teams to develop accurate and practical electrical designs.
Primary Duties
Design electrical panels, control systems, and electrical layouts for custom automation machinery.
Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and cable layouts.
Create and modify electrical drawings based on project requirements and specifications.
Collaborate with Controls, Mechanical, Engineering, and Project Management teams.
Review designs for accuracy, functionality, manufacturability, and compliance with applicable standards.
Support electrical design changes and troubleshooting throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare electrical documentation and drawings for manufacturing and installation.
Participate in project reviews and provide technical support as required.
Technical Requirements
5+ years of electrical design experience within a custom machinery or industrial automation environment.
Strong understanding of electrical panels, controls, wiring, and industrial automation systems.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
Experience designing cable layouts and electrical systems for custom machinery.
Experience with AutoCAD Electrical is an asset.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.
Qualifications
5+ years of relevant electrical design experience in custom machinery or automation.
Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related education is preferred.
Experience with custom automation equipment and machine building is highly preferred.
Knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards is an asset.
Location: Oakville, ON
Salary Range: $43/hr - $50/hr + OT
