We’re excited to share an opportunity for an existing vacancy as an Electrical Designer. This position is ideal for an experienced professional looking to make a significant impact in the industrial automation sector. As an Electrical Designer, you will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for automation and control projects that drive innovation and efficiency within the industry. As an Electrical Designer, you will play a key role in creating electrical designs and layouts for industrial automation systems, working closely with project teams to ensure that electrical systems are designed to meet industry standards, client needs, and project specifications. Your contributions will help improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure the safe and reliable operation of automated systems in various industrial applications.
Daily responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Designing electrical systems for industrial automation, including power distribution, control systems, and wiring schematics
Preparing detailed electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, panel layouts, and control circuit designs using AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar CAD software
Collaborating with project engineers and other stakeholders to review project requirements and develop electrical design specifications
Ensuring electrical designs comply with national and international codes and safety standards (NEC, IEC, UL, etc.)
Conducting electrical load analysis, fault current calculations, and short-circuit studies for various automation systems
Supporting the procurement process by creating equipment lists, specifications, and ensuring that all components meet project requirements
Reviewing and modifying electrical designs to meet cost, quality, and schedule constraints
Assisting in the commissioning and troubleshooting of electrical systems during installation and testing
Ensuring all design documentation is accurate, complete, and delivered on time for project implementation
Providing technical support during the installation and start-up phases of automation projects
Mandatory Requirements:
Associate's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field
3+ years of experience in electrical design, preferably in industrial automation or control systems
Proficient in using CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, etc.) for electrical design
Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, UL, IEC)
Experience in designing power distribution and control systems for industrial automation applications
Ability to create detailed electrical schematics and system layouts
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team setting
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Preferred Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline
Experience with PLCs, HMI systems, VFDs, and other automation equipment
Familiarity with DCS (Distributed Control Systems) or SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems
Knowledge of electrical analysis software (ETAP, SKM, or similar tools)
Experience with international electrical codes and safety regulations
Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical systems
Certification as a Professional Engineering Technologist (CET) or equivalent
Experience in working with clients and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of electrical systems
