itec group is partnered with a manufacturer in the Heavy Equipment sector looking for an experienced Fluid Power Designer. This individual will be responsible for 3D SolidWorks Design of hydraulic hose routing along with machine testing and validation among other responsibilities.
Daily responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Design and develop hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication systems for mobile heavy equipment, including excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and cranes. Ensure that designs meet functional, environmental, and safety requirements.
Select and size fluid power components (pumps, valves, cylinders, filters, hoses, and tanks) based on system requirements, performance criteria, and cost constraints.
Create detailed 2D/3D models of fluid power systems using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks). Produce clear engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and schematics.
Work closely with the mechanical and electrical engineering teams to integrate fluid power systems with other subsystems of the mobile equipment, ensuring compatibility and seamless operation.
Oversee the fabrication and assembly of prototypes and perform system-level testing to validate designs. Troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during testing to improve system performance and reliability.
Mandatory Requirements:
Engineering Degree or Diploma
Minimum 3 years of experience in hydraulic design, preferably in the heavy equipment or mobile machinery industry.
Strong understanding of hydraulic principles, fluid dynamics, and system design.
Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) and hydraulic simulation tools.
