Job Description: IT Engineer

Location: Mississauga
Salary Range: $70k to 85k

itec group is partnered with a leading organization in the Warehousing & Logistics sector seeking an IT Engineer. This position will focus on overseeing IT infrastructure, systems, and troubleshooting, as well as supporting internal IT operations across various technology systems. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management preferably with Linux software, strong technical skills in networking, and troubleshooting, with hands-on experience in industrial environments.

Daily Responsibilities May Include but Are Not Limited To:
  • Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on IT infrastructure, networks, servers, and industrial automation systems.
  • Lead, train, and mentor a team of IT professionals to ensure the optimal performance, security, and reliability of all technology systems.
  • Schedule and oversee daily tasks for the IT team to ensure timely completion and minimal system downtime.
  • Oversee and implement the IT preventive maintenance program, ensuring all systems, networks, and servers are regularly tested, inspected, and maintained.
  • Supervise and participate in troubleshooting IT-related issues, including network failures, system errors, server issues, and device connectivity problems.
  • Develop and implement cost-effective solutions to enhance network performance, reliability, and security.
  • Participate in IT project management, including system upgrades, installations, and implementation of new technology solutions.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, identify training needs, and ensure the team stays up to date with the latest industry standards and best practices.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for IT maintenance activities, system updates, inspections, and repairs. Prepare and present reports to management, including metrics on system performance, issues, and resolutions.

Mandatory Requirements:
  • 2+ years of IT engineering experience in an industrial or enterprise setting.
  • Diploma or Degree within the Computer Science, IT,  or Engineering discipline
  • Strong proficiency in network infrastructure, server management, and troubleshooting of IT systems.
  • Solid knowledge of IT security principles, including network security and data protection.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, backup systems, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, network diagrams, and IT manuals.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Linux) preferred.
