Job Description

We’re excited to share an opportunity for an existing vacancy as a Labour Relations Specialist in Cambridge.

This position will support a highly unionized manufacturing environment by providing practical labour relations guidance, administering collective agreements, resolving workplace concerns, and helping leaders maintain positive and productive employee relationships. The successful candidate will be a confident communicator who can balance employee advocacy, operational priorities, and legislative compliance.

Daily responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Interpret and administer collective agreements, company policies, and applicable employment legislation.
  • Provide guidance to managers and supervisors on employee relations, attendance, discipline, performance management, and workplace conduct.
  • Manage grievances through the investigation, response, settlement, and arbitration preparation stages.
  • Participate in grievance meetings, mediations, arbitrations, and other labour relations proceedings.
  • Conduct fair and thorough workplace investigations involving complaints, misconduct, harassment, and policy violations.
  • Build and maintain constructive working relationships with union representatives, employees, and operational leadership.
  • Support collective bargaining preparation through research, costing, proposal development, and documentation.
Mandatory Requirements:
  • Postsecondary education in Human Resources, Labour Relations, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive labour relations or employee relations experience.
  • Experience working in a unionized manufacturing, industrial, or similarly complex operational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario employment and labour legislation.
Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000
