Job Description


Our well-established client is seeking a Lead Buyer to join their team for a permanent job opportunity.

Reporting to the General, the Lead Buyer will be responsible for sourcing vendors, negotiating contracts and pricing, along with managing supplier performance for all 3 Ontario locations. The successful candidate will have 5 years of purchasing experience within a manufacturing or fabrication environment. The Lead Buyer job responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Negotiate supplier agreements and prepare/issue purchase orders

  • Obtain the best overall terms and costs for production-related components

  • Manage inventories and participate in physical counts

  • Manage and provided supplier performance report cards.

  • Take part in meetings regarding production

  • Maintain all BOM’s and engineered drawings

 

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing

  • Working knowledge of MRP and ERP systems

  • Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation

  • Strong communication skills-both verbal and written

  • Ability to read drawings/blueprints an asset
