Our well-established client is seeking a Lead Buyer to join their team for a permanent job opportunity.
Reporting to the General, the LeadBuyer will be responsible for sourcing vendors, negotiating contracts and pricing, along with managing supplier performance for all 3 Ontario locations. The successful candidate will have 5 years of purchasing experience within a manufacturing or fabrication environment. The Lead Buyer job responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Negotiate supplier agreements and prepare/issue purchase orders
Obtain the best overall terms and costs for production-related components
Manage inventories and participate in physical counts
Manage and provided supplier performance report cards.
Take part in meetings regarding production
Maintain all BOM’s and engineered drawings
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in purchasing
Working knowledge of MRP and ERP systems
Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation
Strong communication skills-both verbal and written
Ability to read drawings/blueprints an asset
