Location: Grimsby, ON Salary: $38 – $42/hr + OT Vacation: 3 Weeks
Our client, a well-established manufacturing organization in the Grimsby area, is seeking an experienced Machinist to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist who has strong experience with both CNC and manual machining and enjoys working in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for machining components to precise specifications, supporting production requirements, and ensuring all work meets quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC machining equipment to produce precision components.
Set up and operate manual mills, lathes, and other conventional machine tools.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
Perform machining operations including turning, milling, drilling, boring, and grinding.
Select appropriate tooling, cutting speeds, feeds, and machining methods.
Inspect completed components using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
Make adjustments to ensure components meet required tolerances and specifications.
Perform basic troubleshooting and adjustments to CNC equipment and machining processes.
Complete one-off, prototype, repair, and low-volume machining work as required.
Maintain tooling, machinery, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
Work closely with Engineering, Production, Tooling, and Maintenance teams.
Identify opportunities to improve machining processes, quality, and efficiency.
Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
Qualifications
Minimum 3–5 years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
Must have hands-on experience with both CNC and manual machining.
Strong experience operating and setting up CNC mills and/or lathes.
Strong experience operating manual mills and lathes.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, feeds, and speeds.
Proficient with precision measuring equipment.
Ability to work to tight tolerances and maintain high-quality standards.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Experience with CNC programming is an asset.
Tool & Die, Mold Making, or custom machining experience is an asset.
