Our client is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with a strong machining background to support and improve manufacturing processes within a precision manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with CNC machining, process development, tooling, and continuous improvement. Experience within the aerospace industry would be considered a strong asset.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer who enjoys working closely with production and engineering teams to improve processes, reduce costs, increase efficiency, and support new product introduction. RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, optimize, and implement manufacturing processes for CNC machining operations.
Analyze existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and cost.
Support the development and implementation of machining processes, tooling, fixtures, and workholding solutions.
Develop and improve CNC machining processes to optimize cycle times, throughput, quality, and machine utilization.
Troubleshoot manufacturing and machining issues and implement effective corrective actions.
Work closely with CNC Machinists, Tooling, Quality, Maintenance, and Production teams.
Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions, process sheets, and setup documentation.
Support new product introduction and the transition of products from engineering into production.
Review engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements to ensure manufacturability.
Support tooling and fixture design and implementation.
Identify opportunities to reduce scrap, rework, setup times, and manufacturing costs.
Lead continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
Perform process capability studies and analyze manufacturing data.
Support root-cause analysis and corrective action activities.
Assist with the selection and implementation of cutting tools, machining strategies, and process parameters.
Ensure manufacturing processes meet applicable quality, safety, and customer requirements.
Support customer and internal quality requirements, including APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and PPAP where applicable.
Participate in capital equipment projects, machine installations, and process improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Post-secondary education in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
Strong CNC machining and manufacturing process background.
Experience working with CNC mills, lathes, or other precision machining equipment.
Strong understanding of GD&T, engineering drawings, and manufacturing specifications.
Experience with tooling, fixtures, workholding, and machining processes.
Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
Aerospace manufacturing experience is considered a strong asset.
Experience with AS9100, aerospace quality requirements, or aerospace customer requirements would be an asset.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work hands-on with production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Salary Range: $82,000 - $85,000
