itec group is currently recruiting for two Mechanical Designers with strong SolidWorks experience to support a busy engineering and manufacturing team in Stoney Creek.
These are contract positions with an immediate need. The successful candidates will be responsible for developing and updating detailed mechanical designs and shop drawings while working closely with the existing engineering and production teams.
Key Responsibilities
Create and modify detailed mechanical designs and shop drawings using SolidWorks
Develop manufacturing and fabrication drawings based on engineering requirements
Review designs for accuracy, dimensions, tolerances, and manufacturability
Make revisions and updates to existing drawings and designs
Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production teams
Interpret engineering specifications, sketches, and project requirements
Ensure drawings and documentation meet project and customer requirements
Manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Provide design support to the team as required
Qualifications
3+ years of mechanical design experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
Strong SolidWorks skills are required
Experience producing detailed shop and fabrication drawings
Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and contribute effectively within a team
Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
What's Offered
$33–$45/hour, based on experience
3–6 month contract opportunity
