Job Description

We’re excited to share an opportunity for an existing vacancy as a PLC Programmer to join our team. This role will involve extensive travel to customer sites for the commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting of automated systems. As a key member of our engineering team, you will work directly with customers to ensure the successful implementation of PLC-controlled systems in diverse industrial environments. Daily responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • PLC Programming & System Integration:
    • Program and configure PLC systems, including Siemens, Allen-Bradley, and other major brands, based on customer specifications and project requirements.
    • Customize and integrate PLC programs with various industrial equipment, including robotics, conveyors, motors, and sensors, to create fully automated systems.

  • Commissioning & Startup:
    • Travel to customer sites for the commissioning, installation, and startup of PLC-based control systems.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues during system startup, ensuring that all hardware and software components are properly integrated and functioning.
    • Conduct testing, fine-tuning, and optimization of systems to ensure compliance with project specifications and performance criteria.

  • Customer Support & Training:
    • Provide on-site support during commissioning, including programming adjustments, system checks, and troubleshooting.
    • Train customer personnel on PLC system operations, troubleshooting, and maintenance to ensure smooth long-term operation.

  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Generate detailed reports, including system configuration, programming documentation, testing results, and any troubleshooting steps taken.
    • Maintain accurate records of travel, site visits, and customer interactions, reporting progress and issues to project managers.

  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Work closely with internal engineering teams and project managers to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.
    • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their specific needs and provide technical solutions during commissioning and system startup.

  • Continuous Improvement & Learning:
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in PLC technology, industrial automation, and control systems to continuously improve programming techniques and system performance.
    • Participate in ongoing training to expand skills in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and emerging automation technologies.
Mandatory Requirements:

  • Education & Experience:
    • Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field.
    • 3+ years of experience as a PLC Programmer, preferably in automation or industrial control systems.

  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in PLC programming languages (e.g., ladder logic, structured text, function block) and experience with major PLC platforms (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, etc.).
    • Experience with HMI/SCADA systems, industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus), and automated control systems.

  • Travel Requirements:
    • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 75% of the time) to customer sites for commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting.
    • Valid passport and driver’s license (for travel across regions or internationally) is required.
