We’re excited to share an opportunity for an existing vacancy as Plant Manager with a well-established automotive manufacturer in the Guelph area.
This is an opportunity for an experienced manufacturing leader to take ownership of a high-volume metal stamping operation. Reporting to senior manufacturing leadership, the Plant Manager will be responsible for driving performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity and people development. The ideal candidate will bring strong automotive leadership experience combined with solid technical knowledge of stamping presses, tooling and dies.
Daily responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Provide overall leadership and direction for plant operations.
Lead Production, Maintenance, Tool Room, Quality and other key manufacturing functions.
Establish and monitor plant KPIs related to safety, quality, delivery, productivity, cost and equipment performance.
Drive improvements in uptime, throughput, scrap, labour efficiency and overall operational performance.
Work closely with Maintenance and Tool & Die teams to resolve equipment, tooling and production issues.
Review production requirements, manpower needs and operating priorities.
Lead, coach and develop plant leadership while driving accountability throughout the operation.
Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across manufacturing processes.
Ensure Health & Safety policies, procedures and regulatory requirements are followed.
Support root-cause analysis and corrective action for significant production and quality issues.
Maintain strong communication with senior leadership and key customers.
Ensure the operation consistently meets production, quality, delivery and financial objectives.
Mandatory Requirements:
8+ years of progressive leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
Strong automotive manufacturing experience.
Previous experience leading a high-volume manufacturing operation.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing KPIs, downtime, scrap, throughput and labour efficiency.
