Project Coordinator - Automotive Manufacturing

Location: Cambridge, ON

We seek a highly skilled Project Coordinator to oversee and drive projects with a global automotive manufacturing leader. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in capital equipment management, plant layout design, automation processes, and proficiency in AutoCAD. This role involves managing cross-functional teams, meeting project milestones, and aligning project objectives with strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage complex projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses for capital equipment investments, providing recommendations to senior management.
  • Design and optimize plant layout to enhance operational efficiency and workflow, utilizing AutoCAD for the creation of detailed schematics and plans.
  • Oversee the selection, installation, and commissioning of automation systems and capital equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Facilitate regular project meetings to communicate progress, address challenges, and resolve conflicts among team members.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including schedules, budgets, and reports for all stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report on project performance, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process optimization and implementing innovative solutions.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of project management experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Strong background in capital equipment management and proven experience in plant layout design.
  • Proficiency in automation technologies and systems, with a solid understanding of best practices in automation integration.
  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD for layout and facility design.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
