We're excited to share an opportunity for an existing vacancy as a Junior Tool & Die Maker / Mold Maker. Join a growing manufacturing team where you'll play a key role in supporting the preventative maintenance of production tooling and molds. This position is ideal for a junior-level Tool & Die Maker or Mold Maker looking to further develop their skills in tooling maintenance, sharpening, and precision grinding while supporting a high-volume manufacturing operation.
Daily responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Performing preventative maintenance on production tooling, dies, molds, and related components.
Sharpening, grinding, polishing, and refurbishing tooling to maintain optimal production performance.
Inspecting tooling and molds for wear, damage, and dimensional accuracy.
Assisting with tool and mold repairs, disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly.
Operating manual toolroom equipment, including surface grinders, pedestal grinders, polishing equipment, and other precision machinery.
Maintaining tooling inventory and documenting preventative maintenance activities.
Working closely with production and maintenance teams to ensure tooling is available and production downtime is minimized.
Assisting with troubleshooting tooling-related production issues and recommending corrective actions.
Following all safety procedures while maintaining a clean and organized toolroom.
Mandatory Requirements:
Completion of a Tool & Die Maker or Mold Maker apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in a toolroom environment.
Experience performing preventative maintenance on tooling, dies, or molds.
Experience sharpening and grinding tooling.
Strong mechanical aptitude with attention to detail.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Requirements:
430A Tool & Die Maker or 431A Mold Maker Certificate of Qualification is considered an asset.
Experience using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
Experience within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Basic welding or machining experience is considered an asset.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Location: Grimsby, Ontario
Salary Range:$30.00/hr – $38.00/hr
